Cdp David Ching Licsw’s Expertise Utilization and Care Management Supervisor with Heart My job and lifelong mission = Helping people. As a patient advocate and catalyst for integrated care strategies, I assist people in overcoming financial, communications, and co-occurring clinical challenges that enables them to recover. To me, recovery is when someone feels in control of their life and choices, has a sense of safety, provides for oneself, and has healthy relationships. By always looking for better ways of doing things, my tenacity helps me and my team “find a way” by working collaboratively to put people together with their strengths. We create harmony in the approaches used to help our clients find their way back to being happy and able. One of the greatest rewards of my work is achieving desired mental health / substance use disorders / primary care outcomes by ensuring agencies use evidence-based practices to create treatment plans that deliver the right level of care at right intensity over appropriate amount of time. I do this by retrospectively evaluating individual treatments to identify potential red flags indicating over- or under-utilization of prescribed services; that way, I ensure that Medicaid funding is spent correctly while safeguarding treatment effectiveness and efficiency. But you should know that I also have a reputation as a pioneering force within the utilization and care management fields; I channel integrated care concepts into real-world implementations that break down barriers, improves ease of access, and increases collaboration between providers to deliver best-in-class care. As a leader, I am known as an internal culture builder who fosters openness, encourages community problem-solving, embraces technology tools that enhance staff productivity levels, empowers staff through power of humor, and removes communication barriers to promote the organizational vision. And that’s how we get our job done and help our members achieve their recovery goals.
